May 13-19 - National Family & Life Week
“[Love] bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.” (1 Corinthians 13.7)
As a Catholic school community, the Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board affirms the sacred character of human life. National Family and Life Week is an opportunity to celebrate this. All life is sacred and we are called to serve and to love one another. Respect for life means that all human beings have value and deserve to be treated with dignity and respect from the eldest to the youngest; from those who are strong and healthy to those who are vulnerable because of illness or disabilities; and from those who can speak for themselves, to those who cannot. As a Catholic community, we will celebrate this call as we work together to nurture and empower our students and one another to stand up for those who are most vulnerable. The Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops (CCCB) extends an invitation to families, parishes, dioceses, and faith communities to celebrate together the annual National Family and Life Week. National Family & Life Week is an invitation to the faithful in Canada to celebrate the joy and beauty of family and life by seeking out new and creative ways to live out this call in our daily lives. The theme for this year is "Love hopes all things," which is taken from Saint Paul's hymn on love in 1 Corinthians 13.7: "[Love] bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things." During the week of May 13-19, Ji8 invites all members of our community, including our students, staff, parents/guardians and families to celebrate the sacred character of human life as lived out in family life through the various resources provided by the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishop's Office for Family and Life: National Family & Life Week Resources
