鈥嬧赌� Indigenous Education Overview 2021-2022

鈥嬧赌嬧赌嬧赌嬧赌嬧€嬧赌嬧€嬧赌婭n 2007, the Ministry of Education launched the Ontario First Nation, M茅tis and Inuit Education Policy Framework with three main goals for all school boards to:

1. produce high levels of student achievement
2. reduce gaps in student achievement
3. produce high levels of public confidence

In order to support the framework as well as Dufferin-Peel's Catholic Board Improvement Learning Cycle, the board has implemented the following:

Ji8福利网 Board is providing an opportunity for students to self-identify their First Nation, M茅tis and/or Inuit ancestry in a voluntary and confidential manner. Indigenous Education Advisory Council

Dufferin-Peel has an Indigenous Education Advisory Council (IEAC) that meets on a regular basis to offer parent and community input on the Board Action Plan for Indigenous Education, in addition to providing an advocacy role for parents and the community. Indigenous Student Voice Council鈥�

The purpose of this council is to encourage and empower student leaders to find their voice, and translate that voice into actions that support Indigenous student needs, and school communities throughout our board.
