​â¶Ä‹â¶Ä‹â¶Ä‹â¶Ä‹â€‹â€‹â€‹The Kindergarten ProgramThrough a full day of play-based learning, that combines exploration and instruction, children in Kindergarten develop socially, emotionally, and physically. Prayer, song and guided experiences that reveal the traces of God all around us, help children to grow spiritually. They also develop their capacity in Language and Mathematics, and engage in healthy physical activities and experiences through the Arts. As part of the Kindergarten program, certified teachers and Designated Early Childhood Educators work together to help our early learners grow and learn, from and with each other, during the regular school day.​
Educators as Partners
Many caring, supportive adults facilitate and nurture your child's growth as a learner. The Ministry of Education's definition of a Kindergarten educator team includes a teacher and a Designated Early Childhood Educator (DECE) in classes where enrollment is more than 15 students. In classes where enrollment is less than 15 students, the program is delivered by the classroom teacher only. Our valued planning time teachers who offer additional programming in variety of areas in the school are also integral to the program. Furthermore, a collaborative school team works to support the program, as needed, and includes special education resource teachers, school administrator(s), Child and Youth Workers, Social Workers, Speech and Language Pathologists or Psychologists. Kindergarten teachers work collaboratively with all staff to complete the Communication of Learning documents that share timely information regarding your child's progress and areas of continued growth.

Early Years Information​
Optional Extended Day Program and Before/After School Child Care for 6-12 year olds
The optional Extended Day Program (for four- and five-year olds) in Dufferin-Peel Catholic schools is provided by three child care agencies: Family Day Care Services, PLASP Child Care Services and YMCA of Greater Toronto. The program operates in accordance with Education Act requirements at sites where there is sufficient interest.
Fees apply to participate in this program. Fee subsidies may be available for families who qualify for financial assistance.
Where programs are available, hours of operation on schools days are from 7:30 a.m. to school start and from school end to 6:00 p.m. Programs also operate on Professional Activity Days at many locations from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. To find out if this program is available at your school and to obtain further details regarding available programs,
